Iron is the working title of Book 2 of a novel currently in progress. It narrates the existential
angst of a human being in a world that grows too fast and rashly sweeps away all that is
familiar. Markos and Poghos leave their wives and children in a village in Armenia before the
Red Revolution to become contract workers at the steel mills in Gary, Indiana in the early

1900s. Their life paths change abruptly due to world events over which they have no control.
Waiting: Book 1 of a novel: a coming-of-age story of a young girl, Shushan, who is destined
to grow up and raise a family in Soviet Armenia at the dawn of Bolshevik Revolution through
World War 2. She dreams of the impossible: to join her father in America while the boy she loves,
Avet, embraces the Soviet ideology and has a vision of a better future for his people.
